To me, fluid mechanics is one of the most aesthetically pleasing branches of science. As a bonus, it's also full of phenomena that are very relevant to our everyday lives. Here is a short list of a small number of e-resources illustrating the practicality and beauty of fluids. FLOW VISUALIZATIONS:
https://glittering.blue/ :: timelapse satellite photography of one day of Earth's weather in the Eastern hemisphere
http://hint.fm/wind/ :: current forecast of wind speeds across the United States
Wind Tunnel :: phone app for visualizing airfoils, wakes behind bluff bodies, and other cool stuff
http://adrift.org.au/ :: physics engine for calculating the dispersion of marine plastics given a specific dump point
Efluids :: gallery of videos and still images of fluid phenomena
http://david.li/waves/ :: ocean wave simulator with variable chop and wind speed
FLUIDS EVERY DAY:
Why does wine cry? :: Dan Quinn's superb video on the physics behind the "legs" or "tears" on the side of a wineglass
FYFD :: Nicole Sharp's eclectic blog of classic problems and new discoveries in fluid mechanics
EDUCATION:
NSF Fluid Mechanics Series :: educational videos created in the 1960s which illustrate cool principles of fluid flow
Oceanography Experiments :: Mirjam Glessmer's collection of hands-on experiments for outreach or education
